Hi loves =) Chapter dedicated to CupidInABox, for cheering me up with her excitement over posting the chapter :D

"Seriously? You need more orange juice? Alright but I really don't like where this is heading." I poured another glass for Tanner and set it on the bedside table. When dad said I'd be taking care of Tanner, he really wasn't joking.

Tanner shot me a kind hearted smile and I automatically felt bad for being sarcastic. "If you need to use the bathroom," I said. "Landon here will take you. Right Landon?" Okay maybe not that bad. I had no intention of seeing Tanners business ever again. Once had been enough.

Landon's head peeked up from the magazine he'd been reading. "What's the matter hot-shot? Afraid of a little surprise? Just think of him as your little brother."

Tanner chuckled. "Yes, a very large, very manly little brother. It's perfectly fine Miss Evans. I can walk myself to the restroom."

"Here we go again with the misses. My name's Nora, Tanner. Remember that or I won't listen to you next time you call me." I patted his head and gathered up a few blankets, draping them over his very muscly body.

"I've gotta head to the hospital. You don't mind watching him for a bit do you?" I asked, turning to face Landon.

He opened his mouth to protest but I shot him a look. "Fine, but you owe me."

I sighed. "Yeah, I kinda figured. I'll make it up to you later."

I made a beeline for my room before he could change his mind. After hastily throwing on a pair of faded jeans and a white t-shirt, I headed back out my door. And ran nose-to-chest into Landon.

"Ouch. Why aren't you with Tanner?" I asked, rubbing my nose in annoyance.

"He's a big boy. He'll be fine for a few minutes." Landon wound his arms around my waist and pulled me close. And although I was running a bit late...well...it felt nice to have him hold me.

"You're really annoying, you know that?"

"Yes, but that's why you love me." Oh, he really wasn't ever going to let me live down telling him I loved him. But, well, it was true so no shame there.

"What do you want?"

"About making it up to me...well..." He shimmied his hips against mine.

"Landon," I chastised. "We had sex last night and the night before...you really need to give a girl a break."

He chuckled. "Tempting, but that's not what I meant. How does a little road trip sound?"

I pursed my lips. "Can't. I'm babysitting a guy who probably knows how to kill people with his thumb."

"I'll take care of that."

"That's not something I really want to hear from a guy in the mafia, you know?"

Landon's mouth gaped open in mock surprise. I rolled my eyes. "Seriously hot-shot. Why is it that I always end up having to beg to take you on dates?"

"Because I'm kind of high maintenance that way."

"Yeah, you are," He said smirking. "Now say yes."

"Nope," His lips found their way to my jaw. "Say yes," He murmured. I bite down on my lip and uttered another no.

"Come on hot-shot," Now they trailed slowly down my neck. Curse him for being so irresistible. But still, he should have known I'd be stubborn. "It's easy. Just say yes."

"No, no, no. Do I need to spell it out for you?" Yeah...that would have sounded convincing if I hadn't been so breathless.

"Please,' He whispered, his soft breath caressing my ear. I sighed. If i let him keep going, I'd probably never get out of the house.

"Okay, fine."

"That's my girl. I love how you play hard to get." His eyes shone in a way that I couldn't help but smile at.

"Yeah, yeah. Now let me go."

"But i hate it how you always leave me hanging."

I smiled broadly. "Yeah, but you still love me right?" I asked, throwing his earlier words back at him. Well, sort of.

"Like the mad man I am." I leaned up on my tip-toes and kissed him once before disengaging myself from his hold.

"See you tonight," I called back and then disappeared out the door.

.........................

Did I ever mention I hated hospitals? I trudged along the white halls, shuffling my feet as the annoying scent of sanitizing chemicals made their way into my lungs.
