Chp 1: The curious case of 1D contract.

I shift to the more comfortable side of the bed and pull the duvets off my face. Warm air, oozing out of the convector, caresses my face. I pry my eyes open and glance at the clock by the bedside, it was 5.30 a.m. I was very much a morning a person, but today, I didn't require alarms to wake me up. It was the sheer excitement, nervousness, hopes and fear of the unknown all baled up together, at the pit of my stomach ceasing me to be asleep for longer. I averted my gaze to the white-washed ceiling above me, simply staring at it. It was one of those days, that had the gravity to change my life... forever. It was the day that I've awaited the most in past three months. After my highschool, when I went college for my graduation course, I started off with my internship in the second year college with the Modest Management Company. It has been one of the most reputed PR companies around here.

Landing an internship in here, was easy with good grades and credits for organizing a lot of highschool events, most impressive of all, being the charity concert that I had volunteered Mrs. Campbell to organize and somehow managed THE Ed Sheeran to perform along with other local bands.

That assignment was definitely a crowd-puller!

After two years of internship and graduation, I had decided to take a permanent job at the same company before I go to the university. I had planned to take a one-year break from studies, since that way, I could not only save up some bucks for my post-grad course but also gain some experience, which was a massive benefit for my career. Three months back, I had applied for a permanent job and thankfully had been short-listed for the interview, which I had given a few days back. Today, the results of the interview were going to be disclosed letting me know whether I was selected..or not?

*Bzzzzzzzz* *Bzzzzzz* *bzzzzzzz*

My alarm which was set to wake up me at 5.45 a.m. daily, knocked me out of my trance with its buzz. Rather than thinking on what's about to happen today, it's better to live it, so I pulled the duvets off me and headed for my daily routine.

After a nice warm shower, I wrapped a towel securing my body from being on display to no one in particular and sauntered off to the cupboard, applied some moisturizer all over my body, for obvious skin care reasons and stood there asking the biggest question of a woman's very existence: "What should I wear today?"

I pulled out a leopard print bra and a hot pink shirt to wear on it, next task was.. squeezing into my black jeans which didn't impose to be much of a trouble considering my petite figure. I had long brown soft curls which I loved to experiment with, after applying a little of black eye pencil and some gloss, in the name of make-up, I grabbed my bag and headed towards kitchen.

As I sauntered off towards the kitchen, I could smell bacon, immediately knowing my morning was going to be good.

"Good morning, sweetie! What's that smile for?...any dream?" my mum's voice rang through kitchen while she was busy making bacon sandwich for breakfast.

"Actually, it would be the smell of a delicious breakfast being prepared by the most beautiful woman in my life."

I pecked her on the cheeks and then walked to refrigerator to get some juice to go with the yummy looking sandwich before leaving my bag on the counter.
