Chapter two 

Two become one

12:31 a.m.: 

"Hey Mystique! Uhh... Mystique?" a shady figure whispered to Mystique as she slept by the in peace. "Hmm? What do you want ma?" Confused, the shady figure shook her silly, waking her from her dreamy state. "Who are you and why are you here?" Mystique said reaching for her cellphone only to have her wrist grabbed and pulled, encouraging her to follow. "Come." is all the dark figure said. Finally memorizing the voice Mystique ripped her arm from the boy's grasp and backed toward the balcony. "Kai? What do you want?" she exclaimed throwing a dagger like glare at Kai. "I want to make up for what I said earlier... I... Uh... I'm... Sorry." Confused Mystique smirked at the situation and glanced behind her seeing the pool directly below her balcony. "If you're expecting me to kiss you, you gotta catch me first!" Mystique challenged, but before Kai could take one step forward, Mystique leaped off the balcony. Thinking she hit a tree, Kai also bounded towards the balcony, but fell off instead of jumped. "Haha! You followed me and fell in the pool. I landed on that floaty thing" Mystique smoothly giggled. "Yeah. So?" Kai abruptly growled. "Calm down. Sheesh Kai, you got no sense of fun. By the way. You still gotta ca-" "Hehe. Gottcha." Startled at how fast he caught on, Mystique leaned forward and lightly kissed Kai's lips. But before she could pull away, Kai deepened the kiss, pulling her closer. Shocked, Mystique reacted on an impulse, she slid her arms around his neck, and leaning toward him. Breaking the kiss, the two realized they were being watched by their teams who were whooping and hollering, joining their team captains in a weird celebration. Mystique blushed really bad and jumped up to the balcony and ran to her bathroom, thinking 'he set me up! I can't believe I fell for it! I'm such a greedy fool!' and then crying tears of rage. She changed into dry clothes and snuck out, then ran until she could no longer carry her own weight. "At least I'm stuck at a place with beautiful patch of cherry blossomed trees." she said sighing as she leaned against one and began to think.

"Hello stranger!" a voice called. Looking around, Mystique spotted a group of teens that had just finished a Bey-battle. "H-H-H-Hi." Mystique squeaked as what seemed to be the group leader walked up to her and said "I'm Lee. Who are you and why are you this far from your home?" "I'm Mystique. Nice to meet you. Oh! And I'm not far from home. I was at the hotel with my team of beybladers. Have you heard of the SnowDogs?" "Yeah. Is that your team?" "Yeah. The bladebreakers took us to our hotel and introduced theirselves to our team. We have to battle them on Friday." "So you've met Tyson and the gang." a pink haired girl stepped beside Lee, "By the way, I'm Mariah. We are the White Tigers group. We recently lost a match to Tyson's gang." "Oh really? That sucks" Mystique said as she calmed down. "yeah it does. That traitor Rei left us for them." a green haired boy snickered as Lee and Mariah glared at him. "That is Kevin and the tall bulky guy is Gary." Mariah said trying to keep her cool. "If you want, me and my team can help you back to your hotel." "Haha no thanks Lee. In fact I just left there because I was set up. By Tyson's team and my team. I got mad and ran all the way out here so I could relax." Mystique plainly spoke as she gazed at the stars. "oh. Okay. Do you mind if I join you?" "do as you wish I'm cool with it Lee." Mystique said softly as she watched the rest of the White Tigers leave for their hotel. "So. Would you like to... I don't know... Walk around... With me?" "Sure. Anything to get my mind off of what happened today Lee." Mystique got up and helped Lee up off the soft patch of grass they were sitting on and began to walk quietly down the brick path that wound through the park. "So Lee. Why are you way out here in Japan if you live in China?" "We want to see the bey-battle Friday and we are good friends with Tyson's gang too. I think our teams can become friends too."
