Chapter 51

Mason is standing next to Jackson listening to what he has to say when Rylie and Chace arrive at the jail. Rylie is surprised to see Jayson holding Margo's hand as they listen to Jackson.

Rylie looks up to see the scowl she knew would be on Chace's face. She's worried about him interacting with Mason. She hasn't felt well the last few days and she's always tired. She doesn't have the energy to break them up if they start arguing. Grabbing Chace by the hand she stops him from walking toward them to have a private word.

"Hey....can you just for me try not to argue with Mason today. I know how much you two can't stand each other but this situation is stressful and I'm afraid that with Margo here, we're going to have enough problems keeping her and Monique from going at each other."

Chace purses his lips together. He's staring at Mason as she speaks. "I'm not concerned with Mason today. Abram Kessler was my father's best friend and they stopped speaking to one another because I had Ivana fired from Braxton Holdings." Chace quietly remarks.

Rylie slides her hand in his. "It's not your fault what happened to Mr. Kessler- Chace. He had a heart attack and Ivana caused herself to get fired."

"What about what that woman said at the mall. Somebody was at that table talking to Abram when he had the heart attack Rylie. Maybe that person caused it. The woman described fits Sharna but I can't believe she would be that cruel to watch a man suffer like that." Chace says.

"Let's handle this first then we'll talk to Jackson about it. Chace I don't want Monique to stay with us. Let her stay in the townhouse." Rylie comments.

"I don't know that she can. That phone call I got in the car was Jackson giving me a heads up that Gavin is going to be released on bail. It's crazy that he's being released before Ivana. He's getting out this afternoon, I asked Jackson to try to stop it." Chace reveals.

"Well, he's my creepy neighbor Chace but I don't know why he would attack Mason. It's just something so out of character in all of this. As far as I know they don't know each other." Rylie says watching the look on Mason's face as Jackson talks.

"Didn't they meet when you were dating Mason?" Chace asks her.

"Mhmm yes.....they did a few times. It was similar to how you met him. Gavin was out walking his dog whenever Mason came over. They never had a conversation or anything that I know about. I do know Mason didn't like him. Not liking Gavin is about the only thing the two of you have in common." Rylie says.

"It's not the only thing Rylie....I suspect Jackson is telling Mason now that Gavin is getting out on bond. We need to find out why Gavin attacked him. I guess I can stand Mason long enough to get that information out of him." Chace reluctantly mumbles as they approach them. He makes sure Rylie isn't standing next to Mason. Rylie leans her head against Chace's shoulder. A bout of nausea comes over her causing her to turn pale. He looks at her with concern wrapping his arm around her. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah Rylie, you look pretty pale?" Jayson comments staring at her while holding tight to Margo's hand. His words capture Jackson's attention he turns to look at Rylie, a half-smile momentarily lines his face before he erases it.

Rylie takes a big swallow shaking her head. "I'm fine. It's not every day you have to go through something like this." She deflects. Her hand slides of its own accord to her stomach where she rubs it knowing in her heart the reason for her constant tiredness and now the nausea. A feeling of quiet tranquility comes over her. She's looks up at Chace her eyes filled with love and happiness about her secret.
