My Love, I Will Come Stalk You Again

chapter 3

alice woke up after the surgery. she looked around trying to figure out where she was. while she tried to get up, she winced and held her stomach. "oh you're awake," a nurse came in with a basket of flowers. alice stared at it. "who's that from?" "a man about... 25-28 years old. he said he was your boyfriend but he was late for work so he told me to give it to you." the nurse dropped off the basket and left. alice reached for it. there was a small note in the middle of the bouquet of flowers. she read what was on it. 'i hope you'll forgive me for putting you in the hospital.'  

alice threw the paper to the side. she lied down again and went to sleep. 

when she came to, someone was on top of her. she opened her eyes slowly. it was kei. he had tied her up to a bed. "now we can together forever," kei leaned in until his head almost touched her's. he had a knife in one hand and held it against alice's neck. "this will be over soon my love." kei smiled and slowly pushed the knife into her neck. alice screamed her lung out. she heard a voice call out her name. it started getting louder and louder. "alice!" someone was shaking her. she opened her eyes and was breathing heavily. she was sweating all over her bed and crying for a while. it was just a dream... just a dream. she looked up and saw juliet, her childhood friend. "this is the first time i see you a month and i hear you're being stalked again." juliet sighed. "you know you can stay with me until they catch him." juliet held alice's hand and started to squeeze it. "he's going to kill you if i stay with you," alice's voice was trembling. "well then, let's go out to eat. i'm sure he won't kill me if we're out in public." juliet helped alice get out of bed and dragged her out of the hospital.  

they went to a small cafe that had a variety of desserts. it was full inside so they sat in one of the tables outside. a waiter took their order then left. "so, you have any idea why this guy is after you? i mean there's plenty of other girls. like... super models. or maybe actors. or those rich arrogant girls at school." while juliet was busy listing other types of girls, a man came up to them. he was wearing sunglasses and a tuxedo. "pardon me ladies. there aren't any more tables that are available. do you mind if i sit with you guys?" alice looked around. there were plenty of tables to sit. she started getting suspicious but didnt respond. "sure," juliet answered. the man sat down. "so what are you girls doing here? usually i see girls your age at the mall or sometimes at a bar." the man was trying to start a conversation. "well my friend here just got out of the hospital so i'm treating her to lunch," juliet answered rather quickly. "i see," the man got up. "excuse me for a moment." the man went inside probably going to the bathroom. "hey alice, don't you think he's kind of cute? if he would only remove those sunglasses then i could see how beautiful his face is." juliet kept going on and on and on about the man. "isn't it kind of dangerous talking to a random stranger? i'm being stalked you know..." alice was getting frightened. "ok i'll tell you what. if you start to feel really uncomfortable, we'll leave. i'll take you somewhere safe away from him." juliet held alice's hand. the man came back and sat down again. "so why are you wearing a tuxedo today? is there a wedding?" juliet asked. the man chuckled. "well actually i wore this to try and impress you girls." juliet and alice looked at each other then back at the man. "i saw you girls walking down the street so i went to that store over there and quickly changed into this tux." juliet laughed a small laugh. "you don't have to change to impress girls." then her phone rang. she looked to see who it was then got up. "sorry i have to take this." juliet left alice and the man alone. the waiter brought their food then left. "so alice," alice looked up. she wondered how he knew her name. "did you like my present?" alice froze. present? what... pre- kei? she was about to get up but the man grabbed her hand. "wait, i have some things i need to talk to you about." alice tried to make him to let go of her hand but he wouldn't budge. "you know i feel very unappreciated that i never got a thank you from you." kei squeezed alice's hand tighter. "oh well," he loosened up. "let's talk about our wedding. i think it should next wednesday." alice pulled her hand back then she stood up. "unless you want your friend killed, sit back down." alice glared at kei then sat back down. kei poked at his cake. alice looked over at where juliet was. she was still talking on her phone. kei scooted his chair next to alice. "it's been a long time since i got to be near you." he put his head on alice's shoulder. she held her breath. "alice, do you know why i chose you?" kei snuggled on alice's shoulder. kei opened his mouth but saw juliet was done talking on the phone. he lifted his head and moved back to his original spot. juliet came back and sat back down. she looked at alice. "alice, are you ok? you look pale." alice took a deep breath then smiled a little. "yea i'm ok. i'm just tired." alice reverted back to her frown. "oh. ok i'll take you home then." kei stood up. "wait ladies. i can't let you go now. maybe we can go for a walk." juliet looked at alice. alice nodded. "uh... ok." juliet noticed alice was uncomfortable near kei so she stood in between them. "i'm sorry. i forgot to introduce myself. i'm nathan," kei bowed at them. "nathan?" juliet asked. "well actually, the doctor got my gender mixed up when i was born so i'm technically natalie." kei let out a small laugh. juliet laughed a little to play along. "i'm juliet and she's alice." juliet linked her arm into alice's arm. kei took one look at them then said, "cute." he looked at his watch. "sorry ladies. i'm need to go back to work." he pulled down his sunglasses, winked, then left. juliet started blushing. when kei disappeared, juliet started squeling. "did you see that? he winked at us! oh shit. i forgot to ask for his number." juliet slumped down to the floor. alice kneeled down to her. "i don't think he's the one for you." alice hugged juliet. "oh.. well i have to go. my dad is pissed that i skipped school to visit you. i'll call you later." juliet ran back to her home. a second later there was an explosion. alice hid in the alley until the smoke passed. she peaked outside then ran toward where the explosion happened. juliet was on the floor. half of her body was burned. alice turned her body over and shook her. her eye opened. she started gasping for air. "a....li....ce..." alice started sobbing. "don't die juliet! the medics will be here soon! don't die!" alice looked around. no one came out to help. she searched juliet's purse for her phone. just when she was about call the police, she heard a gunshot then blood splattered on her. alice dropped the phone then looked down slowly. more tears poured out as she cried juliet's name.
