Chapter 1
“Dawn!!! Dinner is ready!” My mom called. Today is the day before school starts. I know I
shouldn’t be freaking out, but I just moved here three months ago, leaving all my friends behind. After starting grade seven, making new friends and getting used to the teachers, I have to start all over again. And this time, without my girls from elementary school. First of all, I don’t really know anyone here. Second of all, this school has a French program that we were offered before
grade seven. (I hate French!) Third of all, Jason my ex- crush goes here! (He’s in grade nine.) This school starts at grade seven and goes up to grade 12. I’m a little excited to see him after a year, I guess. For dinner I had pasta which I helped my mom prepare earlier. I was so tired that I finished my pasta, brushed my teeth and went straight to bed. I was tired, but I couldn’t fall asleep. I started thinking about what I was going to wear tomorrow, how long it would take me to get to know people at Haxberg Secondary School and most of all… if I’d fall for Jason again as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 2
I woke up at six-thirty. Half an hour before my alarm goes off so I decided to go back to
sleep. After half an hour, I woke up to a startling and very annoying BEEP!!! I got up drowsily and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and get washed up. It took me twenty minutes to get dressed in my hot pink full sleeved V-neck, a black sweater with a wide neck and black skinny’s. It took me another ten minutes to put on some make-up because I couldn’t decide between some baby pink eye-shadow or the Smokey-eye. (I went with the Smokey-eye.) Since it’s all about first impressions and who you really are, I decided to leave my chocolate brown wavy hair out to bring out my red-streaks that I got on my thirteenth birthday. I didn’t want to run late on my first day, so I hurried downstairs for breakfast before slipping into my pink converse high-tops and walking out the door to the bus stop on this chilly September morning.
