Fate had taken my hand to hold yours for a bit
In complete ignorance of the plan involving it

To travel together for a while was the reason we meet

She was your choice while I was merely an option
At the beginning I thought that was a welcomed notion
But as time pass by the pain grew into motion
Now I regret it all wishing for a different decision
Despite it all for your care and smiles I’m grateful
You were someone who for a while made me feel beautiful
But now goodbyes are said and learned lessons of being faithful
Now as I walk away I carry with me a heart more careful
On to the horizon I believe that a day will come
That I will hold someone else’s hand watching the sun
And I would look back and understand the master plan
