Chapter Three

My mind clouded with anger, what was that line from Hamlet? Get revenge, but taint not thy mind... Something like that, right?  Well, I was certainly not listening to any Ghost from a mere play, I was going to get revenge and probably taint my schizophrenic mind in the process, no one can just drug my cousin (with alcohol, or whatever that imbecile used) without me having a say in it.

Well, I acted on that anger, I devilishly stormed out of the room past Wizand into my dorm... Yes, my dorm, not OUR dorm, but my dorm! Two seconds after I reached my room, I realized the other two girls had left, I guess they had grown brains all of a sudden.  "Karina, what on earth are you doing here?" I spoke to my cousin.

"Johnny! Oh gosh, I totally forgot that my little freshman cousin was moving into college here! But why are you in Wiz's room..." At that she looked deep into my eyes, saw what hurt must have been buried deep inside me, and then she broke out into tears.

"Listen up, this is my room, today I found out that this demon you call Wiz, is my room mate... The better question is, what the heck are you doing here, now if you ask me that's the better question."  She was acting like this was her world, and that everyone orbited around her, and quite frankly, I was about ready to tear her a new one.

She sighed, the tears painting her face, "Johnny, enough already! Wiz and Me are -"

I cut her off, "Wiz and I, if you are going to college you might as well act like you've read a grammar text book before!" Correcting the way someone speaks is something I have found myself doing quite often as of late.

"Whatever Einstein, listen I don't want your sas, ugh, Papa Kyle was murdered... I'm sure you know, but your mom just texted me and told me... I don't understand who would do such a thing."

"Well, its official." I stated in a matter of fact tone of voice.

"What are you talking about? What is official?" Karina said, doing that woman thing where they squint their eyes and pull their head backwards, a rather dramatic way to express confusion, wouldn't you say?

"It's official that my mother hates me, I mean, she texts you telling you that he was murdered, and she calls me saying that no one knows how she died... That bi--"

She cut me off again, its getting awfully redundant with no one able to express full thought, "Johnny, I'm gonna go try and sort this mess out in my dorm, I'll text you?" Apparently the question was of a rhetorical sort, as she swaggered out of the room after asking it.

I sighed inwardly, I enjoyed company, and now I needed it more than ever as my life had turned into a CSI show... I just hoped I could pull a Charlie Sheen and get fired by CBS, so that this drama stopped.  It was too bad though, that this was no fictional show, and the nonsense just continued. My phone vibrated in my pocket, I pulled it out, sure enough, Karina had stayed true to her promise and text me.

"What's up?" The text read. Oh really, like she didn't know what was "up" in my life already... Still though, I felt a smile crease my face as I read the text, more like glance at... I would never, ever, admit this, but I loved her, she was my favorite cousin after all!

The text was still no consolation, I wanted company, and at that instant Wizwalked back into the room, "Yo bro, what happened to the broad that was in here?"

Well, I guess this was company, "Don't worry about it! I cheered her up, she had to go." I spoke the words feverishly, and angrily, I didn't even intend that.

Khalifa smirked, "Well, there's many more where that came from, and that came from some ugly lady... Ay, you look depressed, I suppose I should help you lighten up-"

"I'm fine." I thought, he's so ignorant it isn't even humourous any more.

"Whatever man, you are my room mate, I guess I can help, wanna go across the street to the girls dorm? I've gotta few friends there."

Was he actually being nice and sincere to me? There was nothing I wanted to do less than spend some quality time with my room mate, but I figured the girls in the other dorm of which he friended might be a bit classy, "Thanks man! I'll go, lets do this!" The words I said usually express enthusiasm, but believe me, I was not enthusiastic.

As we walked down the stairs we spoke a little bit, I asked questions like "Have you always rapped", "How do you know all these girls", stuff like that, but I was still reluctant to go anywhere with Trouble, my nickname for the Cali Wizard.

We reached the dormitory blueprinted across the street from us, the Morpheus dorm, which was obviously planned out by the same architect as it was a pure replica of ours.  Luckily for my tired legs, the girls we were going to see had a first floor room, and we reached it within a minute.

"Should I knock?" I was new to this whole college scene, and was puzzled on the topic of what to do.

"Nah, just barge on in there, come on bro, you gotta knock." Trouble joked, and I followed his orders, knocking, and then the door swung open.

The room was like ours, luggage spread on the floor, looking like the girls there just moved in, I had no idea who the two girls in the room were henceforth, Khalifa introduced us, he pointed to the blonde who answered the door, "This is Lucille, shes's a junior here." He then kissed her right on the lips, making it clear that I was not admitted to date her...

Wiz then gestured the brunette who laid on a bed to the right, typing away on a Macbook Air. "I don't really know who this is, Lucille, inform us please."

Lucille had a gentle, loving voice, "Oh, that's Kim, she's new here, a freshman!"

Kim was beautiful, that's who she was!  Man, with all these mythological references, I might as well make another one, she was like Aphrodite!  And for the first time in my life, I felt love at first site, I managed a smile as I waved to her.  "Hey handsome, want to put a name to a face?"

I blushed, "Yeah, I'm Johnny, also a-a fr-freshman."

She closed her lap top shut and approached me, her dark brown hair was complimented my an acne-free face, and charming, hazel eyes. "By the way, I think you are real cute."  She reached me, and softly brushed her lips against my cheek, whispering "I usually am not attracted to someone when I meet them for the first time, but you are the exception.

Wow, I was shocked at the turn of events, at the moment I forgot all about my Papa Kyle, the murder I witnessed, and all the hatred I had toward Trouble, as me and Kim sat on her bed watching television.  Cali made a kind gesture, taking his girlfriend out of the room to somewhere else, so that I could get to know Kim... Maybe that guy wasn't so bad after all... But then the music video for Roll Up came on MTV, and I realized he was a loser.

Again though, I have to express, I was in love.  It had been about eight minutes since Karina texted me back, so I felt obligated to respond.. "Hey Karina, just letting you know that I saw the girl of my dreams today... Oh, well by the way, I think I figured out some of the mystery."

The text was anticipated by her, and she quickly responded jokingly, "Mmhmm, I know you saw me silly ;)  Well tell me later, I'm going to my friend Kim's dorm."

I wasn't sure if it was going to be the same Kim as the one that just kissed me on the cheek, but the way the day has been going, I believed that a family reunion was about to occur in Kim's room.

Much like previous chapters, this one comes to an end with another author's note: Personally, I like this chapter a lot, because of the change of events, I appreciate all criticism good and bad!  Any questions, comment... Any links? Comment!
