Dark, dangerous
Lurking in the night,
Scared, cold,
Shivering in fright.

Blank faces,
No emotions,
Empty threats
Without notion.

Handle stuck out,
Knife plunged in
A sinister smile,
A malicious grin.

An evil laugh,
Is all that's heard,
Along with the screams,
Of the nearly dead little girl.

Knock on the door,
The blank face returns,
He opens the door,
And his stomach churns.

The policemen are there,
The guns in their hands,
He shakes with fear,
Staring at where they stand.

"We heard the screams,
It's useless now,
No point in hiding,
You've already been found."

He runs for his life,
But it's already too late,
Shots ring out,
He's met his fate.

The little girl is found,
She recovers so well,
Physically, that is.
But she wouldn't tell.

Nightmares still haunt her,
It's so scary, you see.
How do I know this?
The little girl was me.
