Previously: “Or maybe you’re screwing Cory too, we all know how girls can’t resist him. I bet he’s been f*cking you since freshman year,” T.J. responded with venom. Cory walked towards T. J. and before I knew what happened, he cranked his arm back and flung a strong fist right into T. J.’s face. “Usually when two people like each other, they start dating…” I explain to Cory, watching his face carefully. “I just…know how you are Cory. You have a different girl everyday. That’s why I’ve never even considered us actually being together,” I tell him honestly while running my fingers through my hair. “I use to have different girls everyday. As of late, I’ve just had one my mind,” Cory confessed while looking at me. Before I was fully out of consciousness, I felt his lips are mine softly and then a groan of frustration. “God, I’m becoming a one of those guys in those romance novels Courtney reads. If I start singing sappy love songs I’m gonna grow my hair and say I’m Courtney’s twin sister…” he muttered before going quiet. I had to use everything I had not to laugh out loud. Haha, Cory, Cory, Cory…

Chapter 43

“Don’t teachers have a limited amount of days they can be missed?” Courtney asked me with a sigh of frustration as Mrs. Gregger’s class walking into out classroom. I shrugged my shoulders in respond. When I heard a bunch of girls begin giggling and squealing, I knew who had walking into the room. I looked up to see him.

He walked in with his friend Scott, who had that video camera in his hand. “We have Jermore High’s celebrity here, Mr. Cory King! How about you give a shout out to your fans,” Scott announced as he turned the camera from Cory to the group of girls. Cory smiled flirtatiously and walked over to them.

Their giggles of excited become more profound as he stood infront of them. “Stay in school, don’t do drugs, say your prayers, eat your vegetables…” he began listing things to them, causing them to smiled giggle some more. I got distracted by someone taking the empty seat next to me.

I turned and noticed it to be the one person I’d rather not speak to anymore. I turned away from him quickly at first sight. “Isyss, please,” T.J., begged. I looked at Courtney and noticed her glaring at T.J.. I sighed and turned to him. He had a horrid black eye that he didn’t try to hide with his hair, probably because he knows he deserved it.

Will I hear him out? Sure. Will I forgive him? No one can predict the future. “Let me just start off by saying how sorry I am. I didn’t even realize I said those things until Cory socked me. I didn’t mean any of ‘em,” he told me.

I rolled my eyes. “Of course you meant them. You’ve probably been holding those thoughts in for a while now and finally decided to voice them yesterday,” I say firmly, letting him know I’m not breaking that easily.

He looked at me hopelessly. “I’m truly sorry for acting like a dick to you, you have to believe that. It’s just, I really like you Isyss…a lot. And it makes me mad knowing that you surround yourself with guys that are bound to use you. Please, can’t we just look past this and move on?” he asked with hope. I narrowed my eyes at him.

“Oh! And stay pretty…bye ladies,” I hear Cory finish his list with a smile and wink. The girls blushed at the thought of him calling them pretty.

“And next we have Ms. Dulay! How are you this fine morning?” Scott asked as he and Cory made their way near my table. He held the camera directed towards me.

I noticed Cory look at T.J. and cross his arms over his chest, his face expressionless. Damn it, I wish I knew what he was thinking right now. Ugh, why is he so hard to read? “Hello! And welcome to ‘So You Think You Can Get Away With It’!” I announced in a British accent while portraying a t.v. host as I looked into the camera.
