Kinsley's P.O.V.

A month passed. Nothing happened, the threat didn't come for us. Maybe they knew we were ready for them, waiting until we least expected it. Hunter and Conner, however, were driving me insane.

I wanted to forgive Conner, to let him back in but what he did hurt so bad. Did Hunter know where I was all along and send him down there to help him get to me? Or was it just when I came back? How did he get him on his side? Was everything a lie?

I had been avoiding Conner as much as I could, which really wasn't hard seeing how he was mostly with his mate. I wondered what his mate thought of him trying to rekindle his friendship with another woman. Not a lot of female and male werewolf are friends because of jealous. Even though Conner is still human, his mate is werewolf. Which brings me to another question, is he going to go through the change, or stay human?

Hunter was persistent, he was always around me whenever he could be. Trying to make me see he had changed. I will give him credit, I never smelt anyone else on him. He could be covering in really well, there are ways to do it. Nothing ever slipped through the link though.

Maybe he did stop sleeping around but that didn't mean he wasn't still playing with me. Oh and lets not forget him imaging I was his toys. That was disgusting, how could he even do that?

I still wanted to know how the baby monitor got shut off that day. What if Charlotte had been hurt or an enemy had gotten into the house and took her? I do believe Hunter when he said he didn't turn it off. He would never risk her like that, not after what happened while I was pregnant.

Hunter walked into the kitchen with Charlotte "good morning, baby." He said kissing my forehead.

He had been doing that for a few weeks now. Every morning he would say the same thing and kiss my forehead.

"Don't call me that." I scowled, but truthfully I liked it. "Morning." I said back.

He handed Charlotte to me "hello princess." I cooed making her smile and giggle.

"Ma ma." She squealed.

"Yes, momma." I kissed her forehead.

Hunter made Charlotte oatmeal for breakfast and pulled up a chair to sit next to me and started feeding her.

"Charlotte has an appointment with your mom this afternoon, are you going?" I asked.

He shook his head "I can't, I have an important meeting I have to go to with dad."

I nodded "Alright."

"Dad's giving me the day off tomorrow. Will you go on a date with me?" He asked, hopeful.

I wanted to say yes. I really did, but what if he was still playing a game. I would fall for it easily, I couldn't get hurt like that again. Once was enough. I did want my mate, so much but I was scared. He seemed like he changed, but what if he didn't?

"I don't think so." I said quietly, looked anywhere but at him.

"Please Kinsley, Charlotte can come with us. Just the three of us, we can spend the whole day together." Charlotte started gigging, clapping her hands. "See, even Charlotte wants that."

I sighed "fine, but it's not a date."

"I can live with that." I could tell he was smiling.

----/----

We went for Charlotte's check up and everything was fine. She was a healthy baby and we had nothing to worry about. I hadn't even notice I was worried about it until we got the all clear.
