"So, are you going to tell me where we are going?" Ray spoke softly.

I stared out the window, not making eye contact, silent as the start of a tornado. Just then my phone rang. I checked the caller ID, 'Vergil'. I answered softly, "Yeah?"

"THANK THE GODS YOU ARE ALIVE!" he yelled into the phone. I pulled it away from my ear and mumbled, "yeah, I'm alive..."

As if Vergil heard me, his voice filled with sorrow, "Leon, he..." He paused.

"I know, I was there..." I sobbed. My heart squeezed again, I swollowed my tears.

"And Ruth?" He asked.

I smiled sadly, "That was my doing... It should have been more painful."

Vergil laughed softly, "Breath, my girl, breath." I took a beep breath, "Now where are you?" He asked, sounding concerned.

"On my way to New York, to talk to Lucifer." I said.

Cassi yelled into the phone, "LUCIFER, ARE YOU NUTS!?"

I laughed, "No, he saved me once, and he will help me."

Vergil said to cassi, "Calm down, Im sure she knows what she is doing." He spoke then to me, "Dont you?"

I smiled evilly, "Yes." and hung up the phone.

...

Vergil had called twice a day, until I got to New York. Ray drove like a bat outta hell, trying to get through the traffic. Finally, we decided to walk the res of the way.

"So where does Devil Boy live?" Ray asked, letting slip the name I had told him not to call Lucifer.

I smiled, "I hope he beats you up." He smiled patting my back lightly.

I thought about what Lucifer had, and my eyes shown red, Ray noticed because his green eyes met mine, "Are you okay? You look like the devil went out for a killing spree."

I looked at him, "i plan to."

We came to the building, and I knocked on the door. A camera came out the peek hole, and went back in. The door opened, and I entered. Ray following me in.

I walked up the stairs to his 'man cave'. Ray followed, smelling the air.

"Somethings wrong, there is a demon in here." he whispered.

I giggled, "Yeah, but he doesnt bite."

I opened the door to the 'man cave'. It was Vergil's paradise, with computers every where, and a bookshelf stuffed with books from every era. Ray growled at a figure in the back, drawing a sword out of the air.

This figure stood, turning towards us, showing its face. He was blood red with a long snout, with yellow eyes. The thing had fur covered muscle, and was very much taller than even Vergil, who made normal men feel short. The figure wore nothing except black shorts. Its feet were that of a wolfs, only much larger, and his hands were paws. The creacher growled at me and launched itself at me.

I squeeled, and Ray yelled no. But the creatched wrapped me into a hug, holding me roughly. His body swelled down, fur changing to skin, and the growl truning into a laugh. He spoke softly.

"Brook, it's been so long..." He sounded angry yet relieved.

"Missed you to Lucifer."
