The Nervous Reaction

            She took the pencil and jammed it into her eye.  She screamed as the blood ran down her face; still, she continued twisting the pencil back and forth forcing it farther and farther into her eye.

            No one knew what to do, so they just watched: mouths hanging open, bodies growing limp.  It happened so suddenly, so quick.  One moment the girl was sitting at her desk quietly writing.  Next thing everyone knew…

            The teacher ran to her and ripped the pencil out of her eye.  Still, she screamed.  There seemed to be no end to the puddle of blood.  She fell passed out on the floor.

            The paramedics hauled her lifeless body away.  The police questioned everyone that was in the classroom.  When they got to the teacher he said, “I don’t know what happened.  We were reading; it was her turn to read and she just went crazy.”
