When my eyes flickered open all the memories of the past few days clouded my mind, I lay in my bed staring directly at the ceiling I didn’t want to get up because if I did everything would become real. A small sigh passed my lips I didn’t even flinch when Stefan suddenly appeared at the bottom of my bed a smile on his lips “Morning” He greeted me.

I grunted back in reply closing my eyes placing my hand over them trying to block out the world, I heard him chuckle slightly before feeling the movement of my bed tilt sideways as he laid down beside me. “Are you ready?”

I pulled my hands away from my face, tilting my head to look at him “First full day of being a vampire... Can’t wait...” I grumbled lowly. He let out a soft laugh moving to lie on his side so he was fully facing me “How you feeling?”

I gave him a weak smile “Better I’ve... I’ve come to terms with being a vampire, and I'm okay with it”

He cocked one of his eyebrows obviously not believing me “Really?” I nodded my head “Yeah...” I faltered his blazing green orbs staring me down, so with a sigh I grumbled “No” Sitting up I stretched my arms upwards my shoulders popping.

“I never wanted to be a vampire and I definitely didn’t want someone to make the decision for me... But there is nothing I can do about so I'm going to suck it up and live with it.” I muttered shrugging my shoulders.

“Are you ready” Stefan whispered as he crouched down beside me as we overlooked a deer standing in a clearing leisurely grazing. I swallowed the lump in my throat replying “No, not really” I ran a hand through my hair my fingers trembling “I feel like I’m about to kill bambie”

He chuckled softly patting my shoulder “You don’t have to kill, just feed and release being a bigger animal means that they will heal” I looked at him his expression warm, eyes comforting me so I nodded “Okay... Let’s do this”

Nodding his head he smiled “ill pin and you try it out okay” I gave him a small nod and with seeing that he rushed forward the deer didn’t even see it coming as Stefan pinned the poor animal to the ground, the deer let out a distressed snort but didn’t dare move, it was as if it knew what was about to happen and that was making me feel physically sick.

“Come on over, it’s okay” Stefan called out to me, bringing me away from my thoughts as I walked carefully over to them. He smiled slightly “Just try it” He urged nodding his head egging me on.

I nodded my head taking a small breath in as I bent down allowing my fangs to slip into the deer’s neck, the animal flinched but I tried to ignore it focusing on the blood that wasn’t exactly the best, compared to Jeremy’s and Klaus’s blood it tasted like dirt… Pulling away I wiped my mouth seeing Stefan staring at me curiously so I mumbled “That’s ermm... Unique”

He smiled “Have some more?” I looked at the deer the animal’s almond orbs staring at me the whites of its eyes showing pure and utter fear. I took a breath shaking my head “No... Erm no I’m okay for now, I just... I need to burn off some energy though...”

Stefan nodded his head some of his brown hair moving with the motion, he stood up, slowly releasing the deer which smartly bolted off into the forest. “Come on then, let’s do some exercise I need to release some energy too...”

“You mean anger” I countered with a smile, he rolled his eyes scowling at me I chuckled shoving him gently “Oh please I’ve known you a long time Stefan I know when something has annoyed you”

He gave me a small smile “Elena broke up with me” He muttered with a shrug of his shoulders, but even though he put up a good front I could see the pain shining in his eyes. I rubbed the back of my head awkwardly “Oh...”
