Chapter one

Jessica was sitting in her bedroom when the doorbell went. Her brother had returned for a couple of days and had brought the rest of the boys with him. There was a knock on her door and her brother walked in. Jess looked up. “Hey Nathan, how are you?” Jessica asked, writing an answer to her homework.

Nathan looked around his sister’s room before answering, “I’m good. But I have a problem.” Jess sniggered. Nathan looked unhappy so she stopped quickly.

“What’s up?” she asked more seriously.

“Well, you know we go to Cardiff on the 3rd April. Well, all the hotels are full from the 2nd – 4th because obviously everyone is staying in a hotel because of the tour. Which means we don’t have anywhere to stay,” Nathan explained sitting on the end of her bed and looking at her maths homework.

“So?” Jess queried.

“That’s 24,” he replied pointing at a question. “Your friend Alicia lives in Wales doesn’t she?” Jessica nodded. “Could you ask her if we could stay with her?” Jess nodded again.

“Sure, but she’s your friend as well, why don’t you ask her? I mean she’s 17 like you and she was in the same class as you at primary and beginning of secondary until you left for Sylvia Young. Then when you went back to Ribston, she was still in your class,” Jess pointed out.

“I know, but when I left because of the band, she told me she was moving to Wales and I forgot to get her number, so I don’t have any way to contact her,” he mumbled. Jess rolled her eyes.

“Alright, I’ll contact her. Come on,” she picked up her phone and walked out her room. Nathan followed her downstairs. She walked into her living room and found Jay and Siva sitting at the table, max laying on the floor and Tom sprawled across the sofa. “Shift your feet Tom, you might be staying here for a bit, but I live here too and if you want me to contact my Welsh friend, I need to sit down.” Tom groaned but swung his feet off the sofa so he was sitting up. Jess opened up her phone and typed in Alicia’s number.

“Wait,” Nathan exclaimed. Jessica looked up. “Is there going to be enough room? I mean she has four brothers and two sisters and her parents will be there. Oh, and what is she doing at the moment?”

Jessica sighed. “Yes, Nathan there will be room. Her brothers and sisters are all at uni so don’t live with her anymore and her mum and dad are in Australia for six months. She’s got the whole house to herself for another five months I think,” Jessica explained slowly. “She is still at Ribston doing her A-levels in music, music tech, maths and physics.” Nathan’s eyes widened.

“But she’s only 17,” he exclaimed.

“Yeah, and so are you but you live on your own,” Jess stated. Nathan shrugged and let Jessica phone her.

“Hi Alicia,” Jess called down the phone. Jessica had put it on speaker so everyone could hear Alicia.

“Hey Jess. How’s Gloucester? I hear your brother is coming back this week with his band,” Alicia sung, her voice ringing like bells. You could hear a Welsh lilt to her voice.

“Yeah, Gloucester is good. Nathan and that lot are here now. In fact, that’s why I’m calling. Nathan wants me to ask you something,” Jessica answered.

“Oh yeah.”

“Yeah. You know they are doing a concert on 3rd of April in Cardiff. Well they need a place to stay and all the hotels are full and they were wondering could they stay with you from the 2nd to the 4th?” Jess explained.

“Sure they can stay. It would be great to see Nathan again. And it’s not like there’s not enough room here. Tell them they can stay,” Alicia answered. The boys cheered and Alicia exclaimed, “Oh, did they hear that?” she giggled. Jess laughed.

“Yeah they did. I’ll give your phone number to Nathan so that Jane and management can contact you and set it up.”

“Sure thing. Bye Jess,” Alicia finished.

Jessica closed her phone. “There, you are Nathan she would have answered you.” She gave Nathan Alicia’s number.

Chapter two

Jayne took Nathan’s phone of him when he told her they had accommodation. “Give me the number Nathan,” she replied. He handed over his phone. She found the right number and phoned Alicia.

“Hello,” came Alicia’s voice through the phone.

“Hello Alicia. It’s Jayne. The Wanted’s manager. Thank you so much for letting us stay with you,” Jayne replied.

“That’s ok. It’s my pleasure. There are seven spare rooms here at the moment,” Alicia chirped happily.

“Thanks Alicia. Well Tom, Max, Siva, Jay and Nathan all need a room as do I, their hairdresser and makeup artist which is nine people. Max and Tom agreed to share and Jay and Siva will share and so will Debbie and I. So we only need five rooms. Is that alright?” Jayne asked.

“Yes, that’s great. Can’t wait to meet you all. What time are you coming?” Alicia stated.

“12:30pm on the 2nd. Is that alright?” Jayne asked.

“Yes, that’s fine. I’ll see you then. Bye Jayne,” Alicia answered.

Jayne handed Nathan his phone back. “Thanks,” he said. He turned back to Jay.

Jay nodded at Tom who pressed play on the CD player. All time low came out. Nathan crouched in between Jay and Siva at the back of the stage. Jessica was sat in the makeshift audience with Jayne. They were testing their tour on her. As it got to Nathan’s bit, Jessica’s phone rang. She looked at the caller id before hanging up and focusing on her brother. As the song came to an end her phone rang again. She answered it.

“Hello,” she said. The voice the other end was unfamiliar to her.

“Jessica, it’s your cousin. James,” the voice replied. Jessica dropped the phone and her face was a look of horror. Nathan saw her face and jumped off the stage and ran over to her.

“Jess, what’s up?” he asked. She pointed shakily to her phone. Nathan picked it up and listened to the voice that was still talking. His face became blank.

“James, go away. Leave my sister alone and me,” he added as an afterthought.

“Nathan, how good to hear from you. I hear you are going on tour soon,” James’s silky voice replied. Nathan growled. “Look, I’m not coming back into your lives. I just thought I’d let you know. I’m moving to Spain.”

Nathan relaxed a little. “good” he said and slammed the phone shut. He walked back over to Jessica and hugged her. “It’s alright sis. He won’t hurt you again. He’s off to Spain.” Jessica burst into tears and buried her head into her brother.
