The first task – translating the book – is going well. All my time is consumed with it. Father understands why I have immersed myself in the work. He cannot say anything, especially when he did the same when Mother died. I need to get my mind off of things and translating does that.
We met with Wesley again yesterday. The second task – this one mostly for Father – is now to be set into motion. Six triangular pieces that fit together to create a key. This key will open a bronze box, which Wesley will be keeping at Paddon Manor for now.
We have a lists of paintings from famous artists we are to put these bronze pieces in. I will help Father with this process, which involves canvases that match the exact ageing of the original. These are not just any canvases, though. Together under a light, they will form a map. That, at least, is what Wesley has told us. He showed us, but I did not understand everything.
Wesley said himself that he does not understand it either, but that hopefully someone in the future will.
