Skylar Marie Ackland had had a perfect life. She was rich, popular, pretty, and everyone loved her. But when her dad lost his job, everything changed. Her parents could no longer afford the mansion they were living in, or the many high-end cars. They had to move into a small apartment, which forced Skylar to switch schools. At her new school, she was no longer popular; instead she was a freak who had no friends. Her parents were constantly fighting due to the stress of having no money. Skylar slipped into a deep depression, also cutting herself. Every day she had thoughts about suicide, and living until the next day was her struggle.
