Imagine Love

Author's Notes: Hello , hello! This is Popcornfish reporting in! I recently deleted a few stories that I was positive I wouldn't continue. I tend to have these little spurts of inspiration then I just start writing. So, I actually planned this story out for awhile. I've decided I'll go ahead and post up and see where it'll go. I hope you'll enjoy it! I didn't have time to edit or revise at the time and I apologize in advance. Oh one more thing! This story will contain boy x boy. You've been warned.

A single paper ball was tossed to the over flowing trashcan, it gently fall on top of the massive bulge before resting on the floor with the other denied balled up papers. The soft amber haired young man continued to scribble on the line paper with swift movements of his number two pencil. Another figure was present in the adequate bedroom, he sat on the bed, watching and waiting patiently. A devious smile was dancing on the male's face who sat down on the bed, continuing to watch in utter amusement at the other's distress. Honestly, how hard could it be to write a silly romance novel? Surely, he thought, it wasn't that hard was it? His thoughts were interrupted at the sound of a groan escaping the other's lips. Obviously, it was hard if it left his beautiful boy in defeat.

"I don't even know how I want to start this," The sound of his voice was enough confirmation that he was planning on resting before sitting on that uncomfortable wooden chair for another two hours.

Caine let out a dramatic sigh and laid on the bed, hands behind his head while watching Neil. For a moment the two continued to remain in their positions. Neil reached to turn off the lamp beside his desk; he trudged over to Caine afterwards.

Caine wrapped his arms around the smaller male with a blissful smile. He began to pet the once perfect styled hair which was now a disheveled mess. "Why are you writing this novel again?" Caine's voice was nonchalant about the novel since it was just causing Neil more unessecary stress.

The brunette shrugged his shoulders, "It's been on my bucket list since I was younger. I always loved writing though it was more of a hobby. I thought writing this 'novel' would help express myself and relax a little." Neil nuzzled his face into Caine's shoulder blade, breathing in his scent and almost whimpering at the lost of warmth as Caine pulled away a bit.

"Oh? Then if it's suppose to help you relax, why are you so damn stress?" Neil was silent as he stared for a moment.

"I have thousands of plots just running around in my head," he said with closed eyes before continuing, "I can't just choose one and I'm not sure how I want this to play out. It has to be something meaningful."

Now, it was Caine's turn to be silent while he studied Neil's body language. Perhaps, Neil's desire for writing a romance novel was because of a lack of a romanatic relationship of his own. Truth be told, Neil had no real experience in dating or loving someone...well, besides Caine, of course.

"Well, if you're going to write a novel, a romance novel at that, you should actually have prior knowledge on romance itself." Neil sat up in an instant with a fixed pout on his face, added he did cross his arms too.

"I've been with you haven't I? It's close to a relationship, right?" Caine let out a soft laugh before he pulled Neil down to the bed again. He brushed the stray hair on Neil's forehead as he whispered in his ear softly.

"It doesn't count if I don't exist."

"Don't say that," Neil's whisper was softer than Caine's as he held fast to the imaginative body of Caine. The two were inseparable since Neil first created, or rather imagined Caine. He was at the age of nine when he decided he needed someone to help pull off his notorious pranks, and more importantly someone to talk to him when his parents were fighting. When Neil's parents went through the divorce, Caine was with Neil through the bad times and the good times.

Neil's parents never bothered or concerned themselves when Neil would mention his 'imaginary friend' Caine. On his tenth birthday, Neil celebrated with Caine at the zoo with his mother stalking behind. He didn't have many friends growing up, besides Maria and Dina. Those two were his second best friends (with Caine being number one.) and both never questioned about Caine's existence.

But here he was, twenty-years old and still had an imaginary friend. I mean, who could blame Neil? He lived in apartment by himself in Los Angeles, California. His parents lived in Washington, Seattle and his close friends lived in San Diego! There was absolutely no one here for him except Caine. Caine would always be there for him.
