Bye!!

*******

Experience has built this wall, not I;

I merely watched through sodden eyes.

Each layer a premature goodbye,

a sigh dispersed, a question why?

Brick by brick, each memory stored,

no longer cherished nor adored;

their bitter after taste, abhorred,

sealed behind scars, reddened, sore.

Blood and tears from cracks cascade,

a crimson flag, half mast displayed;

come one come all but be afraid,

today my soul is on parade.

Here I sit, atop my wall

awaiting arms to break my fall;

to love my faults, my pain, my all

Here I sit, I wait, I call.
