Chapter 42 – Chelsea POV

Nothing had really went as I was planning up to yet, we seemed to have landed and just kept running when we arrived on the island. It was to be expected, of course would we would have to settle in and gather our bearings, and then we would begin training. That. Never. Happened.

Since we got here it was one disaster after another, weeding through just whom we trust, especially when I realized that not everyone here on the island was actually worthy of being here. I didn’t want to put that label on anyone, deciding who would live or die and who was worth it, that wasn’t why I had been given this journey. In fact it was quiet reversed, I was sent to undo all of the damage that the Elders had created by believing they were above it all as well as deciding the ‘all’ so to speak.

Chelsea stop Kayla, stop her, tell her to stop attacking the boy, Chris shouted in my mind again, I closed my eyes concentrating on Kayla’s mind. Startled, her mind a bowl of past and present, I shook my head, no hurt the girl, stop hurting her bad, she thought, Kayla stop! Stop! Her body instantly stilled, and through her mind a bloodied boy is beneath her. “Grant stay here with Ben,” I said as my eyes snap open and I leave the kitchen, knowing that Grant is on my heals as I leave the house, “Chelsea what’s going-” he’s cut off but my mind is elsewhere.

Leland, Lux, and Marlon go to the beach near Rainy and Chris’ house; there was an attack I believe, right now!

The order is sent and the wind around me picks up, much more than the light breeze that couldn’t so much as move the silky curtains on our window, odd compared to any other night. I glanced at Gabriel, wondering if this was just I, my hair was lifted away, I closed my eyes, reaching out to him and the two of us were upon the scene near the water.

“Oh god! Help him – help him!” a young girl shrieked, “Anthony, Anthony,” che cried, her hair flying in all directions, she swiped it away, wearing nothing but a shirt, the young boy on the ground naked, “Kayla!” I heard from behind me, turning I saw Ben running full speed at me, his face scrunched up, arms swinging as he pushed towards her. Rainy and Chris each had two children clipped to their chest, crying and pleading with Kayla and the babies to stop crying but each shout from the girl, led to louder shrieks from the babies.

“Chelsea don’t let him near her!” She tried to attack Rainy and I, Chris finished in my mind. Getting closer I could see now that the young man was Anthony, Marlon’s son. “Chris give the baby to Gabriel, and help Anthony, he’s Marlon’s son,” I ordered him. Before Leland and Marlon could arrive to the beach, Lux burst through the trees, and from the spot Ben came Julia and Grant followed now.

Lux, its Anthony, I told him over the link, before turning to Kayla. Her fur was silver, shimmering in the night sky as she growled and whimpered. Hurting girl, hurting girl, she thought growling, but it was mixed with images of her in pain, “oh god,” I muttered in understanding.

“Kayla honey shift back,” Rainy tried to coax the little girl, but as she took a step forward, the wolf bared her teeth, agitated.
