Chapter 1~Wizards, Witches, and Weasleys??

We suddenly stopped spinning and I let go of Dumbledore's arm and fell to the ground. I gasped for air and felt like I was going to hurl. I did NOT want to repeat that experience.

"That is called apparating my dear Ellie, and is a form of transportation for witches and wizards. You'll be learning how to soon, considering you're 17." Dumbledore explained.

"Can't wait for that." I grumbled, shakily standing up.

"Are you ready now, or do you need another moment?" he asked kindly.

"No, no," I replied, taking a few deep breaths, "Let's get this show on the road."

"Here you'll need to read this." Dumbledore handed me a small slip of paper and then turned and faced the middle of a row of houses I hadn't noticed before. He seemed to stare between numbers 11 and 13.

"Alright then..." and then I read the paper aloud, "I, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, am Secret Keeper of Number 12 Grimmauld Place." I jumped, because as soon as I had finished reading the last word a large grating sound had started. I looked up to see a house emerging from in between numbers 11 and 13.

"What the-" and then I stopped, because the house had fully emerged, complete with a neat little fence and a mailbox with the number 12 on it.

"After you." Dumbledore stated simply, holding open the little door in the fence.

"Okay..." I trailed off, this was too weird! I stepped past Dumbledore and walked up the little pathway to the door and stood before it.

"Go ahead and go in, there's no need to knock, they know we're coming." Dumbledoreappeared behind me. So, witha deep breath, I turned the doorknob and stepped into the threshold. I wrinkled my nose at the musky smell, not bad-smelling, but just unfamiliar. I peered up the stairs for a second, and then started down the hallway, Dumbledorefollowing behind me. I gasped as I looked at the wall and these creatures I had never seen before's heads were mounted on plaques! Too bad for me though, as I was watching the heads I didn't see the lamp stand...

"MUDBLOODS AND FILTH IN MY HOUSE!!! DISGRACING MY HOUSE!!! I yelped as I stood up from knocking over the stand. A curtain at the end of the hallway had opened up and inside was a portrait of a lady, who was repeatedly screaming and hurling insults at me.

"SHUT UP YOU OLD HAG!!" I yelped once again as a man came running into the room and somehow got the curtains closed and shut the woman up. Then he turned to face me and Dumbledore. "Sorry about that, she doesn't take kindly to guests. Need a hand up?" he asked and then he helped pull me up from the ground.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to knock it over, and the lady..." I realized I was about to cry. It had been a very emotional day for me. But I didn't want to cry in front of this man, even though he was being so kind to me.

"Dumbledore, is this...her?" the man asked Dumbledore, who smiled and nodded. I noticed he was standing slightly back from us.

"I knew it!" the man declared delightfully, "She looks just like Lily. Except for the eyes, James' eyes. Almost the exact opposite of Harry."

"You knew my real parents?" I asked him excitedly.

"Yes, of course! James was my best mate, and I was always there when he was taking a fancy to Evans. Sorry, Lily to you." he explained kindly, "The name's Sirius by the way, Sirius Black."

"Pleased to meet you Mr.Black." I smiled at him.

"Oh please just call me Sirius, after all," he looked up at Dumbledore, "I am your godfather."

I can't explain what I felt at that moment, because honestly, it was utmost joy and happiness that I had never felt before. I was in the presence of someone who had obviously known my parents, my only connection that I had to them. Suddenly, before I knew it, I was hugging him, squeezing him tightly to me. I pulled away, embarrassed. "Sorry, that was...sorry, I'm just happy to meet you." I finished weakly. He just beamed at me and pulled me back in for another hug.

"I can see now that you're fine. I have to leave now, business to take care of. But I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon at Hogwarts." And with that Dumbledore turned and strode out the door. I again pulled out of the hug and looked at Sirius questioningly.
