Seemed to stop my breath
My head on your chest
Waiting to cave in
From the bottom of my...
Hear your voice again
Could we dim the sun
And wonder where we've been
Maybe you and me
So kiss me like you did
My heart stopped beating
Such a softer sin

I grinned as my leg collided with Smasher's nose. I heard a sickening crack and then blood came gushing out of his nose. He looked down at his blood stained fists and glared down at me. He had reason to as well. Smasher was the Underground's top street fighter, and I was beating him. I don't think that he had ever even come up against a girl before, and he had underestimated me... how sad for him. I smirked evilly and then came forward, my left fist striking him in the chest and my right catching him with a right hook to his chin. He fell backwards on the hard floor and I jumped on top of him, pummelling him and then bending his leg up, where no mans leg should ever be stretched. I could see him straining to get out of my hold. He then rolled his eyes and tapped the floor three times, he was out. And I, HAD WON! I grinned, holding up my arms and letting the roar of the crowd rush over me. Elation and happiness ran through my veins, allowing me to ignore the already forming bruises and muscle aches.
It's a pity I have school tomorrow...
***
"He woke up from dreaming and put on his shoes,
Starting making his way past 2 in the morning.
He hasn't been sober for days.
Leaning now, into the breeze, remembering Sunday"
Remembering Sunday by All Time Low burst out of my radio alarm and I groaned, slamming a fist down on it. A small crunching sound emitted and the radio let out a high pitched whine and then chunked to a stop. I opened my eyes slowly and looked at it, feeling slightly guilty as my 7th alarm clock in a row lay dead on my bedside desk. Sighing I crawled out of bed to my bathroom, jumping in the shower and letting the hot water run over me, waking me up. I grimaced as I felt my muscles ache from the fight last night. Wrapping a towel around my small body I walked to the closet and pulled out a pair of skinny leg jeans and a small blue shirt, finishing it off with some small blue flats.
I walked over to my full length mirror which had my name across the top in gold lettering - 'Emilie Shey Poolham'. I frowned at it, my mum had gone slightly crazy with my name. Rather than giving me the usual spelling, such as Emily, Emilee or anything else, she decided to go with the french looking spelling - Emelie. Not that I minded that much, it was still pronounced the same way, even though no two people spelt it alike. That was the only thing my mother had left me with though, due to the fact that I hadnt seen her since I was two.
I looked at my reflection, a small frown on my face. The girl in front of me had the same small frown on her pale face. Her long brown hair framed her face, reaching down to her lower back. Her fringe finished just above her dark brown eyes, mingling with her long eyelashes. The small freckles dotted across her face accentuated her skin tone. Grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulder, I hummed to myself as I quietly descended the stairs, hoping that Father was still asleep, or still unconscious from all his drinking last night.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs I quickly darted into the kitchen, grabbing an apple and then heading for the front door, cringing as the usual floorboard creaked under my slight weight. Every morning I forgot about the creaky floorboard... and every morning Father never hears it, I thought with a grin.
