I Am Lacerta Chapter 11

I had kept to my word about seeing Fred again as I saw him on the platform when I agreed to pick up my cousin with Cissy.

Draco was absolutely elated I was there – he thought I had made the effort to come and see him – but he was the only person on the entire platform who was really happy as the air was still thick was shock and sadness from the death of Cedric Diggory. I said hello to Draco quickly before making my excuses when I saw Luna and running after her.

“LUNA!” I shouted after her and she turned around happily and gave me a massive hug.

“Lacy!! How are you? Where did you go?” she asked worriedly.

“Oh honey, I can’t ever come back to Hogwarts. It’s so annoying – I miss it already.” I replied annoyed.

“Oh no matter, Lacy, no matter, we will definitely meet up again in the holidays I promise! I have to hurry, my dad doesn’t like to stay on the platform too long –it’s too crowded. Bye, Lacerta.” Luna said while giving me a huge hug.

“I’ll write you Lu, I promise. See you soon.” I said as she was towed away by her tall, white-haired father.

I then spotted a mass of red and when I turned around I saw the Weasley Clan walking together. Near the back, Fred was looking around expectantly, so I ran towards him.

When I got close, I snuck up behind him, clamped my hands over his eyes and said, “Guess who?”

“Lacerta! How are you?” he asked before giving me a huge hug.

“I’m good thanks, Fred, but I’ve been missing you loads.” I said, hugging him back.

“I’m sorry to break up your little ‘love fest’ but Fred we have places to be and we are leaving now.” said a voice I hated all too well, Ginny Weasley.

“Ginny, don’t you have better things to be doing than ruining other people’s holidays?” I asked lightly.

Fred laughed and Ginny smiled sarcastically before saying,“Just yours, Lestrange, just yours.”

I wiped an imaginary tear from my eye and said, “I’m touched.” I then turned to Fred and gave him a kiss on the cheek and said,

“Bye Fred, don’t forget to write.” I gave him a final hug before walking away purposefully stepping on Ginny’s feet as I went.

When I got back to my aunt she was talking to Pansy Parkinson’s mother, Draco was looking exceedingly bored talking to Pansy herself.

“Poor you,” I whispered to him, “stuck talking to this cow.” He smirked and tried to avoid laughing, and Cissy then spotted me and ushered us away quickly.

“Thank God you turned up Lacerta.” Cissy said quietly to me. “That woman is such a cow.” I laughed so hard it took a lot of effort to keep walking normally – when Cissy called someone a cow, you know they’re a cow.

We took the Floo Network home, and when we got there I collapsed on the sofa in the living room. Draco sat across from me on the other sofa.

“What? What do you want?” I asked savagely.

Draco ignored these questions and instead asked: “How’s life? What have you been up to here while I was at school?”

“Oh, this and that. The Dark Lord stops in to see me now and then, check I haven’t run away.” I said nonchalantly.

“THE DARK LORD?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING WITH ME?” he asked, loudly.

“Of course not? I don’t kid at the best of times! Sure, I lie but that doesn’t mean I kid!” I replied menacingly, equally as loud.

“LOOK YOU TWO IF YOU CAN’T LEARN TO TALK TO EACHOTHER QUIETLY, I WON’T LET YOU TALK AT ALL!” shouted Cissy, easily louder than both of us put together.

“Sorry, mum.” said Draco.

"Sorry, mummy darling don't you mean?" I said mockingly.

"No." he growled. "I don't actually."

"Really? You could have fooled me!" I said shocked.

"Why do you always make fun of me?" Draco asked.

"I don't always make fun of you, Draco. I mean I know I'm good at insulting you but even I can't insult you in my sleep."

"Bet you do." Draco muttered.

"Well let's not hope you're not betting money or you'd be one poor man." I replied.

"You know you're really getting on my nerves now, Lestrange." Draco said angrily.

"Good, it's working then." I replied lazily slouching further back in my chair.

"Levicorpus!" Draco shouted, at the same time as I shouted: "Petrificus totalus!" I blocked his spell and he dodged mine, I broke a vase and while he was dodging my spell he landed on the coffee table, and succeeded in breaking three of the legs.

"WHAT IN HELL IS GOING ON IN THERE?!?!" screeched Cissy.

"Oh shit." Draco said, panicking.

"Reparo." I muttered and the table quickly mended itself, just in time to stande upright before Aunt Cissy came into the room.

"What were you doing and WHAT was that crash?" Cissy asked growled menacingly.

"I was saying, if you were trying to put an opponent off balance, what spell would you use. And I don't know what you are talking about a crash for, can you see anything broken?" I said innocently.

Cissy's lips thinned as she scrutinised the entire room. "Fine, you didn't do any lasting damage but if I hear another whisper from this room that isn't voices, you're banned from it d'you hear me?" she asked finally.

"We hear you." piped up Malfoy.

"Loud and clear." I added. Narcissa narrowed her eyes but walked off anyway.

"Put it here, cousin." I said to Draco, holding out my hand for a hi-five. He went to hi-five me but I grabbed his hand and flipped him onto his back, so he was lying on the cold wood floor.

"There's a lesson for you Draco, don't trust me." I said and walked out of the room laughing.
