Jake POV

I was trying to ignore the annoying girls surrounding me. I wasn't in the mood to make out with any of them, so them being near me made me want to find a tall building and jump off it.

"Oh my god, what a fucking show off. Just because her family has money doesn't mean she should drive a goddamn FERRARI to school."

I heard one of these chicks complaining in a high pitched fake sounding voice. Ferrari? It took me a second, but once I saw it and more importantly the girl behind the wheel, my full attention was focused there. As she got out, she took my breath away. Her hip length chestnut brown hair was shining in the sunlight. Her eyes caught the light, showing me that they were a vibrant blue. Wow. Raking my eyes down her body, I found it flawless. She was just the right balance between curvy and slim. She was in dark denim shorts under a light coral colored crop top that had words I couldn't read from here on the front. Her long tan legs seemed to go on for miles, finally ending with a pair of colorful Nike Air high tops. She was definitely model material. She gave me a quick glance and turned away, almost as if she didn't care that the hottest guy in the school was checking her out. Who did this chick think she was? I definitely planned on finding out.

Emma POV

Pulling up to my new school in my cherry red Ferrari, everyone stared at me. Maybe I picked the wrong car for today? It was my eighteenth birthday present, but now I wished I had driven my Mercedes. Obviously, my parents go a little overboard with my birthday presents. Checking out the school, but more importantly the students, one person stood out to me. He had black hair, styled messily and lightly tanned skin. From here, I could make out a strong jaw and striking green eyes. He was gorgeous. And a total player. I could also see the group of girls surrounding him. He seemed to be staring at me, but I doubted it. He was most likely checking out some other chick in my general direction. I got out of my car and walked to the main office to get my schedule. My first hour was math. Great. I got there early to make a good impression on Mr. Ray, my teacher. There was a seating chart, which made me dislike him immediately. With only one empty seat in the class, I ended up right in between a girl named Jessica and a guy named Jake. Sexy name, Jake. I put my backpack down and sat in my seat, waiting for the bell to ring. I wasn't the only student there early, the girl who sat next to me was already there.

"Hi! My name's Jessica, what's yours?" She chirped.

"Emma" I muttered back.

She was the cheerleader slut type, not someone I wanted to associate with. As the bell rang, most students ran to their seats from just outside the classroom. There was still no sign of this mysterious Jake and I was wondering if he was going to show up at all. A good fifteen minutes later, the boy I had seen outside surrounded by girls walked into the classroom.

"Late slip?" Mr. Ray asked him.

Ignoring the teacher, he slid into his seat. So he thinks he's a badass, huh? When he sat next to me, I assumed he was Jake. Ignoring him, I faced the board, ready to learn some math. As I was concentrating on my work, I didn't notice a certain someone lean over to talk to me.

"What's your name chica?" A deep voice asked quietly.

Startled, I glanced up to see Jake leaning across the aisle to talk to me.

"Emma, and let me guess, your name is Mr. Player?"

He chuckled darkly.

"Actually it's Jake, but you can call me Mr. Player if you'd like." He replied, winking.

"Hm I guess I'll think about it. But then again maybe I'd rather ride of into the sunset with a llama for a husband than ever talk to YOU again"

Placing his hand on his chest, he gave me the most adorable puppy dog face I'd ever seen.

"Ouch, can't a guy be friendly? Way to hurt my feelings."

I looked over at him.

"Well Jake, that makes one of us who cares about your feelings. Unless of course you count my imaginary friend Pedro over there."

"Your imaginary friend Pedro? Is he a unicorn or something?" He said trying to hide a laugh

"Um no what kind of name would Pedro be for a unicorn? He's obviously a flamingo."

"A flamingo, hey? Well would Pedro like to be my friend?" He deadpanned.

"Nope sorry, neither of us are interested in that position."

*****FLASHBACK*****

Leaning forward to talk to me, he whispered in my ear.

"Your name is Emma. And my name is Will, thanks for asking."

I turned around.

"Is that so? Am I supposed to care?" I asked sharply.

He widened his eyes and acted hurt.

"Aw babe you're hurting my pride." He practically whimpered.

"I think you'll survive. Unless a herd of buffaloes storm the school and trample you. But that's kind of a given, don't you think?"

"Buffaloes? Hmm what color are they? Pink? I think I could survive a pink buffalo attack." He said, keeping a straight face.

"No, they're yellow. And nobody can survive yellow buffalo attacks."

I turned around, hoping he'd leave me alone.

*****END FLASHBACK*****

I blinked, returning to reality. I'd already missed half the lesson, thanks to Jake and my little déjà vú episode. Glancing over at Jake's seat, I found it empty. What was up with this guy?
