"So what was that all about?" Aiden asked, referring to my shimmy down the side of my house.

"It's actually.. Well possibly.. Awe heck, I don't know. But it might be a long story. Do you mind if I tell you at lunch?" I stuttered.

"Sure thing, babe. I just worried about you since I got my text. But I suppose four and a half more hours won't be too bad," he told me.

"To make it short and to the point, my mom can't know we're still dating," I confided.

"Why not? I thought she seemed nice enough," he had the cutest smile on his face.

"Honestly? I have no idea. She wouldn't tell me why, and now I have to sneak out to be with you. It's all worth it though.." I could already feel the heat of another blush coming on.

"And why is it worth it?" He asked, already knowing of the answer.

"I think that one's pretty obvious, Captain Halfbrain," I said with a wink.

"Hey! Offensive much?" he whined.

"Only on Tuesdays!" I retorted.

"But it's Wednesday!" was his reply.

"Oops, sorry!" I half-said half-giggled.

"Alright, that's it. Get out of my car." He said, menacingly.

"What?! I was only kidding around!"

"As am I. Look out the window," he said, using a much sweeter tone.

I almost snorted, "so this is how you get back at me? Yell at me to get out only to tell me we're already at school? Real classic Aiden Ryder."

"Hey, what can I say? I'm totally rad, dude!"

"Did you just go surfer on me?"

"Mhmm, am I good or what?"

"Or what."

"What?"

"Exactly," I said.

"Oh darn! I want to be an actor one day, much to my fathers dismay. He wants me to take over as CEO once be quits."

"Awe! Well I think you would be a mah-velous actOR dah-link."

"Me for sure. You? Not so much," he winked.

"Ha ha. Very funny," I stuck out my tongue.

"You better watch yourself, girl, or bad things will happen."

"Yeah? Like what?"

"Like this!"

And with that he leaned over to kiss me. Truly, deeply, and passionately. Sweet and shy, while all the while still being cool and confident. It was enough to take a girls breath away, and it had too. So I pulled away, much to both our displeasure.

"You okay?" He looked concerned.

"Duh! You are way too good for your own good!"

"Thanks, he winked. He then opened his door and ran over to my side of the truck before I even had a chance to blink. He then opened the door, unbuckled me, and swooped me into his arms, bridal style.

"Oh, uh..." I blushed.

"Uh what? Oh crap, how am I gonna get the door closed?"

"I can close it? You sure are silly!"

"Yeah I know," he stuck out his tongue and winked.

"You can put me down now, people are staring!"

"So? What's it matter?"

"I'm new to school, and I don't like when billions of strangers watch me!"

"In that case.." He let me down and closed the door.

"Thank you."

"Let people watch for all I care," and he leaned down and kissed me again, not as dominative, but still passionate and sweet.

"Aiden!"

"What?" He looked at me with puppydog eyes.

"Oh nothing.." I stuck out my tongue.

"Mhmm, sure." Yet he reached for my hand and led me into the school. Our safe haven, where my mom would never see us. And speaking of which, I still had no clue to tell Aiden what my mother had said. But I still had four hours to worry about it, because just then the bell for first period rang. Aiden kissed me goodbye and walked down the hall. I turned around and bumped straight into a preppy brunette.

"Watch where you're going, bitch! Oh! You're Aiden's new toy, aren't you? Good luck when another girl gets in the picture."

"What are you talking about?"

"Maybe I'll tell you some other time, but I don't really like you, so probably not. Whatever, ask some stupid nobody to tell you."

"I don't need this, you talking to me that way," I said, walking away.

"Get back here, and I'll tell you! Trust me, you'll want to know."

"Fine, whatever."

"It all began in eighth grade," she started.
