“So I guess I’ll text you, and we can hangout again tomorrow?” Caleb says, as we walk out the door.
“Yeah, that’d be awesome.” I reply.
As we walk out, I notice that the sun is just settling under the clouds.
“Hey, so I have to run. Josh and I are meeting up with Jen and Liam. Oh, before you say anything, yes. Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrence.” I wink. “I though I was going to miss their meeting today, but turns out, Josh scheduled it later so I could make it too.”
“Well, uh, that sounds…fun. I’ll just call you then.” Caleb says, after giving me a hug.
“Yeah, call me.” I say, looking into his eyes.
I suddenly realize that Caleb is slowly leaning in to kiss me, and I start panicking. What would Josh think if he found out? I mean, Caleb and I are friends, but we had something going for us before he moved. Should I pull away? Should I kiss him?
In the midst of all the thinking, my luck expires, and I don’t get to decide what happens. Caleb’s lips reach mine in seconds. I honestly don’t know what to do at that moment, so I go with kissing back. After we pull away, I shake my head, my emotions circling throughout me like a tornado.
“Alright, I’ll talk to you later.” I finally say, and hurry off down the street.
“Madi, wait!” Caleb yells after me, but I don’t stop.
I start walking faster and faster until I reach my destination. Josh said he would meet me a couple blocks down from the café, and I soon see his car.
“Hey babe.” he says, opening the car door for me.
“Hi.” I reply, sliding myself into the seat.
Josh closes the door and sits himself down in the drivers seat.
“Did you have fun?” he asks.
“Uh, yeah. Can we get going?” I say.
“Sure,” he says, starting the car, “Are you OK?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. My head just hurts, that’s all.”
“Oh, OK.” Josh says, silence filling the car for the rest of the ride.
“Jen! Oh gosh, I missed you so much!” Josh says, giving a big hug to Jen.
“I missed you too! Hey, who’s this?” she asks, gesturing towards me.
“Oh, I’m Madi. I’m Josh’s girlfriend.” I say, shaking her hand, “It’s really nice to meet you. You’re so talented and pretty!”
