Turning Away Warm Bodies

Prologue-

  There's a saying. When you cross the path of a black cat, you'll get bad luck. So everyone who owns a black cat locks them up inside their homes on Halloween to keep all the crazy people on the outside content. But what if those people aren't really crazy? What happens if there actually is some truth behind the superstitious theory? Not many people would consider it and keep to themselves. But I, on the other hand, have a different theory, and with everything I know, who can blame me?

  The way most people think is that when they get grounded, it's the end of the world, or when their month long boyfriend breaks up with them, they're just about ready to kill themselves. How about when the family pet dies? But my mind doesn't work that way. If I got grounded, I'd probably get on my knees and thank the heavens. Not that I'm religious or anything, I'm not, trust me. I lost faith the second time I did it. Why not the first? Simple, the first time you raise the dead, you can't believe your eyes and think it was just some kind of miracle. Did I forget to mention that I'm a necromancer? Kinda important to know that, I guess. But back to the point, my head does not process things the same way ordinary peoples minds do, so my reactions in certain situations are different. I guess the whole bringing back the departed has something to do with that.

  But one more thing that might be good to know is that I'm a bit on the antisocial side. In fact, most people know me as the freak who stays as far away from anyone with a beating heart as possible. And to be honest, they're right. What's the point in denying something that's obviously fact? I take a much stronger comfort in being with someone who's dead than being with anyone who's still alive. Is that kinda crazy? Yes, but again, what's the point in denying something that's true? There is none.
