Color Me Pretty

By Kimberly Conrady

Color me pretty,

Scribble outside the lines.

Use bright shining colors,

Create your own design.

My world is in black and white.

Like words in a book on a shelf.

All alone in this darkness,

So pick me up before I fall.

I am not my own thought,

But more of another.

They wrote these words,

Hoping I'd be discovered.

I can feel there heart,

Beating me with feeling.

There life so black and white,

So lets start a fight.

Add some red.

Make it flow.

Now let the blue ooze;

Filling in the bruise.

Paint a row of green,

So that the grass can break my fall.

Shine a yellow sun,

Let it shine on this brawl.

All I am is black and white.

But with love, I could be so much more.

So stain my pages with ink

Let me be restored.

Color me pretty.

Sketch the image of love on my lines.

So that she may feel complete;

So that she can shine.
