When I first saw him, I was left breathless. The air was literally punched out of my chest by the contraction of my muscles. It was an instinct, I saw him and my body reacted. I wanted him, boy was he gorgeous. He had high cheekbones and wide eyes, with a neat mass of brown hair. His eyebrows were perfectly, yet obviously naturally, shaped and he was neatly unshaven. He wore a black crew necked sweater which was perfectly snug and fitting, tight black jeans which showed his skinny bum beautifully, and black Vans.

I suddenly became conscious of whether or not I looked presentable enough to be in the same room as a guy as magnificent as him. I had my long brown hair swept round on to one shoulder, and I was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and my tightest navy jeans with my white converse. How had I done my make up this morning? Suddenly I couldn't remember, and I was panicking. I pulled out my compact mirror from my bag and checked myself. My skin was clear and pale, I'd only put on mascara this morning. Oh man, did I look ok? Too late to do anything about it now.

He walked across the classroom to where Mr. Patrick was standing and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hi sorry Sir, I'm new to the school. I was sent to this class by the receptionist."

"Oh, you must be Kyle!" Mr. Patrick said. "I was aware you were coming I'd obviously just blanked this morning! Come in, make yourself at home, take your pick of the empty seats and I'll come and explain what we're working on any second."

So, his name was Kyle, this much I now knew. I looked around the room, there were four empty seats. One in front of me, one beside me, one next to my best friend Robyn, who sat three seats to my left, and one right at the front of the class. Kyle turned and began to walk toward me. My heart fluttered and I could feel my pulse. His eyes caught mine and I was sure my heart stopped. "Be fine" I muttered to myself under my breath, before giving Kyle a smile - the most seductive smile I could manage. He shot me a smile back, and he seemed almost nervous.

He placed his bag on the table in front of me and gave me another smile before moving down into his chair. He moved smoothly and without a hitch. I stared at the back of his head for a moment, before turning to catch Robyn's eye.

"Oh my god!" She mimed.

"I know!" I mimed back.

"Talk to him!"

"I can't!"

"I won't forgive you if you don't!" It was a good job he couldn't see us silently exchanging this conversation. Robyn gestured toward him. I wanted to. I really wanted to. But could I manage it? Robyn waved to get my attention (my eyes had drifted to the back of his head again) and then gestured toward him once more.

I looked forward, sighed, then looked down at the floor, then at Kyle's shoes. He was wearing black socks. All black everything I'd seen so far, and I couldn't help but wonder if his underwear was also black. I bet he'd look good in black underwear. He'd probably look good without it, too.

Robyn gestured again.

"OK!" I mimed.

"Hi, I'm Lana." I said leaning across my desk and touching my hand to his arm. He turned swiftly but still smoothly.

"Kyle, nice to meet you." He said with a polite smile. He put a hand on top of mine, which was still resting on his arm. "Your hands are cold."

I smiled. I went to pull my hand out from under his but my ring caught on his sweater. He threw the hand which was resting on mine to the cuff of his sweater on his wrist and clutched it tight.
