It took a full hour to arrive in Konoha. By the time we got there, I wanted to kill Jiraiya and special boy- whose name I learned was Gai. Kakashi and Asuma were okay, I could see myself willingly being around them.

"Off you go now," I decided right before we got to the gates. I reached in my pocket and pulled out an owners contract to the house I had. Kakashi leaned over and he gasped. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"That's Konoha’s haunted house! The legend says a grim reaper used to live there about fifty years ago." I stared at him with an annoyed look. I am not a grim reaper, I am a reaper! One of the three!

I pinched the bridge of my nose and shook my head.

"The legend isn't true, I've lived there since it was built." I pointed out and Asuma piped in.

"Just how old are you?" he asked and I laughed.

"Older than all of you combined. Now out, I have things to do." they all looked to each other before getting off my beautiful carriage.

Seeing the gatekeepers strutting over to me, I stood up. One of them paused and I could see him flush a bright red. The other rolled his eyes and dragged him over.

"Please state your business with Konoha." he questioned calmly. I handed him the paper and he scanned it. His jaw dropped and he looked back to me in awe. "Come on in, Ms. Akuni Teale." (Teale is first name)

He handed me back the paper and stepped off to the side with his silent partner who still looked red in the cheeks.

"Oh, please report to the Hokage within the next three hours." he called out as the carriage started moving forward again. I waved my hand outside the carriage to show that I heard him.

Everyone stared at me in wonder, probably not used to seeing such a fancy carriage and noble horses. One boy caught my eyes though.

"Takashi, stop!" I ordered and disappeared from sight.

Not too far away, a certain blonde haired boy was trying to purchase a small candy piece from a shop that consisted of only candy. He had the money, but the shopkeeper refused to sell any of his goodies to him.

"Get out of here, you monster!" he shopkeeper screamed at him. "Get your filthy hands off my candy!"

The boy stared up at him, on the verge of bursting into tears. When he didn't make any movements, the shopkeeper raised his hand, about to strike the poor miserable little boy.

I grabbed the shopkeepers wrist, taking out my scythe that was hidden away all of this time, and pressed it onto his throat.

"Touch the boy, and I'll kill you." I seethed. People around us gasped and gathered in a circle to eagerly watch.

The man broke out in a cold sweat, trembling. I spun him around, still keeping my blade touching him and glared at him venomously.

"What do you think you were doing?" I interrogated. He laughed nervously, making me even more angry.

"U-uh, we-well. He was trying to steal my candy!" he lied. I narrowed my eyes.

"You're lying. Speak the truth before I kill you." I threatened, no, promised. He yelped and put his hands up in innocence.

“I’m s-so sorry! I just can’t stand the sight of that m-monster.” he admitted and my expression darkened.

“If you even give him another dirty look, I will slaughter you.” I concluded and shoved him away, making him his his hip on his little candy cart.

The blonde haired boy looked up to me with wide eyes, tears pouring down his face. He had marks that looked like whiskers on his cheeks, and he wore all orange. I looked deep in his eyes, and saw a different pair of eyes.

‘Kyuubi’ I thought instantly and pulled back from him.

“What’s your name, boy?” I asked and he grinned up at me.

“Uzumaki... Uzumaki Naruto! What is yours, pretty lady?” I managed a small smile.

‘I don’t quite understand why he makes me have... motherly, feelings.’

“Akuni Teale. Where are your parents?” I questioned further.

By now, the crowd of people had gotten bored and left to do whatever they were doing before. The shopkeeper stood off to the side awkwardly, not sure what to do other than to give me a terrified look.

“I don’t have any.” Naruto put hung his head and I pursed my lips. I didn’t know how to respond to that.

“Well, that’s quite unfortunate.” he nodded but put on a smile. His bright blue eyes were shining. It was as if he had never gotten this kind of attention before.

“Yeah, but I’ll be okay. But now I’m late to class so I gotta go!” he exclaimed and I scowled.

“Please, allow me to take you.” I insisted. Even I knew how much schooling sucked, and that’s really saying something.

Naruto looked around me to see my carriage and his face was priceless. I have never seen a boy so happy before.

“Yes please! Alright!” he cheered and skipped to one of the horses. I followed a bit behind him so he could have some time to pet the horse. Naruto squealed when the horse grunted and I smiled.

“Come on now, we don’t have all day,” I reminded, and stepped into the carriage. Naruto followed after me, scurrying up the steps and planting himself next to me.

“How fast does this go?” Naruto wondered aloud. I smirked.

“Extremely. Takashi, take us to the Academy. And go fast.”
